Hello, I'm Dawn.

If your child needs support with reading, spelling, or primary school English, you're not alone. Many children simply need the right instruction, time, and encouragement to become confident readers and writers.

My passion for helping children learn to read and write has been shaped by both personal experience and professional learning. My journey in literacy began during my tertiary education years, where I supported preschool literacy learning through reading and writing activities. This continued through supporting my own child's literacy journey, which deepened my understanding of how children learn differently.

I believe that every child can learn when taught explicitly, systematically, and with patience and encouragement.

My teaching is guided by a structured literacy approach, where skills are taught step by step in a clear and systematic way. I strive to create a safe and encouraging learning environment where children can experience success, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love for learning.

I'm building Dawn Literacy with a heart to support children and partner with families on their literacy journey. As I continue learning and growing professionally, I hope to provide each child with the best support I can while supporting parents with practical guidance that fits into everyday family life.
